The bravest and most honest person I have never met.....

Well again here I am talking to myself. I have figured out that that's ok though. The only problem is that I argue with myself and most of the time I loose. Jeeez. But the greatest news is that in the last few days I have found a blog where I swear this woman has got to be related to me. She is totally awesome. Whether you agree or disagree with her, you have to respect her for her honesty, brutal honesty actually and her courage. Here is a link to her blog. I guarantee you will both laugh and cry. If I were ever granted a wish as to who I would like to meet in person from the internet, it would have to be Desert Girl, hands down !!

Wow. I am really honored. I read your post when I really needed something inspirational and uplifting - just when I received yet another anonymous, "If you don't like Kuwait, get out" comment. If I didn't LOVE Kuwait (in many ways), I suppose I would.

I want to be just like you. I want to live on a horse farm and be surrounded by beautiful things. You have an open invitation to come to visit me anytime (as soon as I find a new place to live!)

Lots of good wishes, DG

Hey Sweetie :)

What's that show where you trade places with another person for a week or so? Maybe we could do that one day. Sometimes when you walk in another's shoes you come away with a totally different perspective. Your open and honest feelings about the US and Kuwait just amazed me. It was the same thing I have been trying to explain to people for umpteen jillion (spell check) years. It IS possible to love two places that are totally and completely different and it IS possible to NOT like everything about them but yet still never dream of being somewhere else. So when I found your blog it was like BINGO !!

You and I are both very blessed. It's like we have the best of both worlds, meaning we have homes in the US and we have places of our heart in Kuwait that we consider home as well. Why that is so freaking difficult for people to understand is beyond me. I get it from both sides though, my American family and my Kuwaiti family. I could write for days on end about this but you have no idea how nice it is to know there is someone out there who understands how I feel. HUGS to you!

You are more than welcome to my home anytime as well, dear. I wish you could now because the Fall's in Arkansas are really breath taking. Before I even read your post this morning ( I didn't realize you had posted a comment, sorry) I was sitting at my desk and right outside my window was a doe and her three babies. Wallahi the first thing that went through my mind was "oh, I wish DG could see this". I smiled for you.

This turned out to be a much longer post than I intended and I probably should have sent you an e-mail instead, but when your proud of something I think you should let it be known, and DG, I am SO very proud of you, hun !!

Lot's of hugs and warm wishes to you !! ~ Amirah ~
